Dr. Abrams is an International Behavioral Research Scientist at the Boston University School of Public Health and affiliate faculty Yale University School of Public Health. Dr. Abrams is fiercely dedicated to sexual health promotion among women of African ancestry and conducts her work with the goal of utilizing culture as an avenue to better understand and reduce health disparities.
Dr. Abrams has 10 years of teaching experience in higher education and has mentored or coached over 100 graduate students (most being underrepresented minority students), demonstrating her passion for helping the next generation of scholars achieve success.
In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Abrams is a serial entrepreneur who has founded four companies. Her newest venture, the Thrive Institute for Professional Development, showcases her passion for teaching and mentoring via her development of transformative training experiences for graduate students and early career researchers. In addition, it is her background in entrepreneurship that has largely informed her approach to coaching and mentoring in academia.
