All my life I wanted to be an educator and a researcher. I was that kid who’d sit their siblings down (along with a few of dolls) in my own "classroom" and teach them how to read. Or you could find me doing experiments in the kitchen, trying to determine which cereal got soggy the fastest… Cute, right?
Fast forward some years and - perhaps unsurprisingly - training to be an educator and a research scientist in the real world wasn’t quite as cute… Struggling to keep my head above water while balancing coursework, research, manuscript writing, mentoring, teaching, service, and winning grants all at the same time...
Zero stars - Would not recommend. I always thought I would do amazing in graduate school because I had done so well in undergrad but...
